Card Scramble: Viola's Diner - How to Play, Tips & Power-Ups (2026)

Card Scramble: Viola's Diner Pogo Game

Card Scramble: Viola’s Diner is an online card game on Pogo where you help Viola pursue her dreams in the big city and rediscover her roots, one dish at a time, at the local diner.

How to Play

In Card Scramble, the objective is to complete orders by dragging cards from the bottom of the screen to the highlighted tiles on the game board to form five-card hands. Cards can be placed in a horizontal or vertical line.

Win the game by carefully filling every order, assembling the perfect card combinations to satisfy each one.

The game scores hands based on the cards in them – the better the cards, the higher the score:

High Card: 1,000 Base Points
One Pair: 1,150 Base Points
Two Pair: 1,400 Base Points
Three of a Kind: 1,950 Base Points
Straight: 2,250 Base Points
Flush: 2,750 Base Points
Full House: 3,350 Base Points
Four of a Kind: 4,000 Base Points
Straight Flush: 4,500 Base Points
Five of a Kind: 5,250 Base Points

Joker: This becomes any card you want. There are 2 jokers in each deck.
Wildcard: These are treated as the card that will create the highest scoring hand.

Boosters

Boosters can be used before starting a puzzle to gain an advantage that lasts for the entire puzzle.

Loosen Your Belt: Draw one extra card from your deck at any time.
Deuces Wild: All twos in your deck turn to wildcards when drawn.

Power-Ups

Power-ups can be used before playing a hand to help complete objectives.

Cooking the Books: Select any card you have, and increase or decrease it value by one.
Extra Servings: Activate before playing a hand to double the score of that hand.
Refire: Burn any number of cards and draw new ones.
+7 Cards: If you run out of cards, it add 7 more cards to your deck.
+1 Joker: Immediately adds a joker to your cards.
Clean Down: Remove the last 5 hands played on the board. You keep your score.

What is a straight hand in Viola’s Diner

Pogo Fans says

A straight hand is a set of five cards in sequential order, regardless of suit. For example, 3-4-5-6-7 or 10-J-Q-K-A would count as a straight.

How do you advance beyond the main dining room? I have completed all the tasks, I am at level 2-70, have 20K coins and 73 stars – what more do I have to do to open more rooms?

crazedmom1964 says

You may have to use those stars for the “story”. Maybe you need to advance there first.

crazedmom1964 says

I need help with level 3-21. I cannot get over to the “target square” for the life of me. Is there some way to blow up a blockage? Imma be stuck a long time…

Pogo Fans says

There’s no way to blow up or remove blockages in Card Scramble. You have to reach the target square by following the correct route around the board. The target can only be reached from one direction, so if you’re stuck, try approaching it from a different angle.

Hi, I am having trouble on level 2-54. What do the instructions mean when it says: score 12,222 points by end of turn 2 and play 2 pairs hand and play 4 of a kind. I see you have to do it precisely or it will not give you a win. I appreciate any help. Thanks

David says

I don’t get it either, Kate.

Pogo Fans says

To complete Level 2‑54, you must finish the first two turns with a combined score of at least 12,222 points, and within those same two turns you must play one hand that is a Two Pair and one hand that is a Four of a Kind.

Karen G says

Is that even possible? I have been trying forever and am about to say the heck with it and give up. I have had pogo membership for over 20 years and have never had a game with this crap before.

What is the meaning of H2 on the Card Scramble board?

Pogo Fans says

I believe that’s a score multiplier tile. When you play a card onto that space, the value is doubled.

Agent25 says

I too would like to know what is the purpose of the [ H/2x ] space on the Card Scramble board.

Bushyfluffs says

Okay, need some help! I can’t figure out how to get rid of the flashing card suits that come up on level 3-48. There are no instructions regarding this. If anyone knows, please let me in on the secret.

Pogo Fans says

The flashing suits aren’t something you remove directly – they’re telling you which suit you need to match next. Just play cards of the flashing suit and it will stop once you’ve matched enough of them.

Bushy says

Thank you. If I’m understanding correctly, I need to try to follow up or down a line of the flashing suit completely? This is different than the normal suits….there’s a 3×3 block of purple spades in the center of the board, the grids first move must be made in the lower left corner. The ‘normal’ suits clear when I match one with a corresponding card, this center square is flashing the entire time, and if I match a card with it, it still stays there flashing. This is probably as clear as mud lol. I’ll keep trying!

Pogo Fans says

You don’t need to follow a full line or clear the whole 3×3 block. That center square is a special objective tile, it flashes to show which suit you need to collect. It won’t disappear when you match it directly.

Just keep playing cards of the flashing suit anywhere on the board. Once you’ve collected enough of that suit, the flashing stops and the objective is complete.

Bushy says

Oh, ok. I’ll get it done! Why don’t the instructions for the game include this information?! I looked everywhere and couldn’t find any info. Thanks again. I appreciate your help.

Pogo Fans says

You’re welcome! The game can be pretty confusing sometimes. No idea why they don’t include that info anywhere. If anything else pops up, just ask – always happy to help.
